Our Presiding Elders
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
Our Presiding Elders serve as vital intermediaries between Bishop Crawforde and the more than 200 local churches in the Mississippi, North Mississippi, Central North Louisiana, and Louisiana Annual Conference. Appointed by Bishop Crawford, their responsibilities include overseeing the spiritual, administrative, and financial affairs of the churches in their Presiding Elder Districts, under their charge. They support pastors, ensure the implementation of church policies, conduct Quarterly Conferences, support church growth and development, and report to the Annual Conference the works of the Presiding Elder District. As pastoral leaders and administrators, Presiding Elders play a key role in maintaining connectional accountability and fostering the mission and ministry of the AME Church at the district level.
